At least 14 passengers were killed in a militant attack near Ormara. According to the sources, five to six buses were stopped in their tracks and the passengers were offloaded for identification. Afterwards, they were shot at point-blank range.
The buses were travelling from Karachi to Gwadar through Makran Coastal Highway. Identified ones were taken away to an unknown location through nearby mountains where they were shot.
Mohsin Butt, inspector-general of the Balochistan police, said around 15 to 20 man besieged the buses in camouflage uniform posing as military personnel. It was a preplanned attack of target killing as Non-Baloch passengers were targeted, he added.
Up till now, no militant organization has claimed for the responsibility of this horrendous attack. Besides the civilians army, navy personnel and coast guard were also among the martyred.
By All means, this is an illicit scheme of hostile forces to destabilize the state of peace in Pakistan. Ormara is also home to Jinnah Naval Base too. Jinnah Naval Base is a strategic naval base of the Pakistan Navy
Tragic news from #Ormara that 14 people were executed, most likely Ethno nationalists
After ops in FATA/Karachi, stitching the open wound that is Balochistan was next logical step but No, State would rather risk security of Pakistan to avoid few articles by “Patriotic dissenters” https://t.co/yvXx89UmvL— Asfandyar Bhittani (@BhittaniKhannnn) April 18, 2019
Deplorable to learn about the unfortunate killings of passengers on #Makran Coastal Highway. The discrimination-based killings prove that inimical forces are still trying to disrupt the provincial harmony. #Balochistan #Gwadar
