Mohammad Hafeez is retiring from Test Cricket
All-rounder cricketer Mohammad Hafeez on Tuesday announces his retirement from test cricket, during the third and decider match against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi. The third and final test match against New Zealand is Mohammad Hafeez’s last test match.
Mohammad Hafeez decided to take retirement after his struggle in Test Cricket

Mohammad Hafeez made his comeback against Australia last month after two years and scored a cracking 126, but after that he has struggled badly. And during the third test match against New Zealand after his another bad performance on the 2nd day of test he decided to take retirement from test cricket.
Mohammad Hafeez’s career has really been an on and off, he was out of the team for sometime, when he finally made a comeback in 2011. Since then, he was the permanent opener for Pakistan’s cricket team in all formats. He made his highest score of 224 in Test against Bangladesh in 2015, but then losses his consistency and was dropped from the squad for the next 2 years.

Mohammad Hafeez has played 54 test matches and scored 3644 runs with an average of 38.35.
He said on his retirement, “I feel time is up. I am announcing my retirement and feel happy that I worked hard in my career,”.
38 years old Mohammad Hafeez had also considered to take retirement before, but his wife Nazia induced him not to quit the sport. Former cricketer and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar also stepped in to oppose the decision of Hafeez to take retirement.

Mohammad Hafeez has had ups and downs in his bowling career too, because of the legality of his bowling action. He was thrice suspended by ICC. He was suspended in 2014 and banned from bowling at international level for 12 months. The last time he was suspended from bowling was in October 2017.
