Prime Minister Imran Khan to inaugurate the foundation of Kartarpur Corridor today, Navjot Singh Sidhu has reached Pakistan a day before inauguration.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on his first congratulatory speech before taking oath expressed how beneficial the friendly relations between India and Pakistan could be. On PM’s oath taking ceremony, his friend from cricketing world Navjot Singh Sidhu attended and took a promise from Prime Minister and his government to facilitate the crossing of religious devotees of Sikh pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur on his 550th birth anniversary.

Kartarpur is situated in Narowal district of Punjab across the river Ravi, near the border of India and Pakistan. The corridor built for Sikh yatrees will connect the Holy shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib with Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur. After Pakistan’s continuous endeavors to build Kartarpur Corridor, Indian government also agreed to build the corridor on 22nd November, especially after incessant pressure from the Sikh community.
Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur is the most sacred place for Sikh community, as their Guru Nanak Sahab spent his most of the time there, and only there he declared Guru Angad the 2nd Guru of Sikhs.

The corridor would not only allow Sikh pilgrims to offer their prayers and complete their pilgrimage, but it will also open many hopes for the peace between Pakistan and India. Every year Sikh yatrees would visit Kartarpur to celebrate Guru Nanak Sahib’s birth anniversary. Sidhu, who is already present in Pakistan said, “Karturpur corridor will prove to be a path of peace”. Prime Minister Modi also expressed his hope that Kartarpur Corridor might would work as a bridge between India and Pakistan which leads to a better and peaceful future.
Pakistani government has not only opened the border for yatrees, but also are busy in building hotels and accommodations for the yatrees and developing the whole territory of Kartarpur. Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi cancelled his meeting in Geneva to be present in Kartarpur. The visit of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan would be visa free also.
After Prime Minister Imran Khan lay the foundation stone of Kartarpur Corridor, Langar would be distributed among everyone.
