ANOTHER CAREEM CASE
Ever since these ride-hailing services are introduced in Pakistan, we saw so many feedbacks; some positive and some negative. Mostly, harassment cases have surfaced a lot. Same happened again two days back when a girl shared something shocking on her Facebook account. According to this girl named Syed Alina Saeed, she booked a Careem on 24 September and the driver took the car deliberately to some deserted road and when Alina asked why is he going there? this is not the route, the Careem captain didn’t stop and tried to abduct her. On this, Alina pulled the brake her self from the back seat and manage to get out of the car.
Then the driver got out and tried to get Alina back in the car while being physical. Driver pretended on the road that Alina was his relative or daughter to make it look like a family matter. But Alina didn’t stop and kept on waving for the passing by cars to help. On which finally a car stopped and the captain started pretending that Alina wasn’t paying him. On which she paid in front of everyone and somehow manages to escaped from that situation.

She informed Careem about this issue but according to her, Careem did not respond to Alina. On which she was concerned so she put the driver’s profile and his car details up on social media to spread the word so that people stay away from that careem captain.
This is quite shocking and disappointing that there is no word or action by Careem’s and the comapany has not even acknowledged this issue till now.
However, there could be another side to the story. Who knows!
