Pakistan Army Successfully Rescued A Russian Climber Alexander Gukov from Latok Peak
Pakistan Army early morning rescued an abandoned Russian climber from Latok Peak. According to the ISPR, Alexander Gukov was rescued from 20,000 feet Latok Peak I Biafo Glacier. Latok I is a 23,442-foot peak in the Karakoram range and climbing the North Ridge of Latok I is a mountaineering challenge that has never been achieved
The officers carried out first operation of this kind in the country and saved Gukov’s life despite snow and cloudy weather. He has been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Skardu for medical attention. An official tweet by Government of Pakistan Stated,

Alexander had been stuck since there July 25, left with no food supplies and struggling for his life. Several attempts were made by the rescue team to rescue him but unfortunately due to snowy weather operation was delayed.
Gukov along with his friend Sergey Glazunov started this mission. After coming near to the peak just 600 feet away from the summit, Glazunov lost his life in a tragic accident and Gukov sent call for help.
